- Visitor Guest Card Request Form – For CfA visitors sponsored by HCO staying 2+ days. Guests can sit in the library, or you can check for desk space with your colleagues or administator. Send the filled-out card request form to Elizabeth Doyle. NOTE The HCO Business Office is closed on Fridays so cards must be picked up and dropped off M-Th.

Transportation
- All cars parked in Observatory lots at 60 Garden Street during business hours (8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.) must display a parking permit. Daily permits are $12/day for affiliates and $20/day for non-affiliates. The cost for visitor's permits valid after 5 p.m. weekdays, and all day Saturday and Sunday, is $6 for affiliates and $10 for nonaffiliates. More information about permits can be found here - http://transportation.harvard.edu/parking/visitors/online-daily-permits. The name of the lot is "Observatory Lot".
- Bike racks are located at the main entrance and second floor back entrance. Resources are available to bikers on the Harvard Commuter Choice Bike page including discounted helmets, benefits, parking on campus and bike share programs.
- Students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to register their bicycles. Registration serves as a deterrent to theft and can help in the recovery of stolen bicycles. - Blue Bikes (formerly Hubway) bike share is in the process of adding 100 stations and 1,200 new bikes. As a Harvard community member, you’re eligible for a discounted $70 annual membership, which offers unlimited 45-minute rides. Learn more about Harvard's Discounted Bike Share Program.
- Motorist Assistance Program (M.A.P.) - free-of-charge to all faculty, staff, students and visitors parked on Harvard University property who need help changing a tire, charging a dead battery, retrieving keys that have been locked inside a vehicle or run out of gas. 617-496-HELP (4357)
- Harvard Shuttle - routes from the quad (across the street) to Memorial Hall
- Evening Van Service - transports faculty, staff, and students safely around campus as a supplement to our fixed route shuttle bus system. Requires downloading an app.
Library Resources
The Wolbach Library is located on the First Floor of Perkin. There are also a variety of resources available online with your Harvard Key. The online HOLLIS System can search the entire Harvard Library System and includes books, articles, media, images, maps, data, manuscripts and archival material, music, and Harvard's DASCH repository.

- Harvard Recreation and Gyms - QRAC is tiny and the closest. The Hemenway gym is larger, has more equipment and holds classes
- Harvard Employee Assistance Program - (EAP) offers immediate, free, confidential help for all Harvard employees and their household members. Call any time to speak with a trained counselor or for a referral to an experienced professional. The EAP can provide help anywhere. Call the EAP at 877-EAP-HARV (877-327-4278). Also available to postdocs!
- Harvard Urgent Care - All Harvard employees may seek care at HUHS for urgent medical issues that arise while at work, as long as the onset of the illness or injury occurred within the previous 24 hours. The location is Smith Campus Center 75 Mt. Auburn Street.
- Harvard University Counseling and Mental Health Services - supports registered students experiencing distress.
- Harvard University Health Services Behavioral Health - Counseling, therapy, medical management, etc.

- Tuition Assistance - classes are only $40 at the Harvard Extension School or 10 percent of the tuition cost at other eligible Harvard schools. - Harvard Title IX Office and Office for Sexual and Gender-Based Dispute Resolution (ODR). Your Title IX Coordinator will vary based on official positions but likely will fall under the “Staff” section on this list.

- The Playing it Safe Guide is a resource for crime information, including harassment, alcohol and drug policies, missing persons policies, fire safety, security, etc.
- Enroll in the MessageMe service, which will enable you to receive text messages in the event of campus emergencies.
- In the event of a University Wide Closing a message will be posted on https://www.harvard.edu/in-the-event-of-an-emergency/. Please note that Harvard rarely has snow days and even though we share the building with the SAO – we may need to report to work when they don’t. Safety first – if it’s unsafe to come into work – check with your supervisor.
- Harvard Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) has resources for Occupational Safety (including Ergonomics) and Laboratory Safety. EH&S is available to assist with managing responses to incidents and accidents in laboratories, 24/7 through the University Operations Center at 617.495.5560.
